EU Structural and Investment Funds 2014 to 2020
This is the new programme for the distribution of ERDF and ESF funds in the EU. It will broadly support the same type of projects as the current programmes: business growth, innovation, employment and skills. Funds will be distributed by the Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) so for Nottingham this will be the D2N2 LEP, who are currently consulting with relevant partners to develop the programme.

Horizon 2020 Energy Calls for Proposals
Horizon 2020 is designed to be simpler than previous European Commission funding programmes with only two funding rates for direct costs and a single flat rate for indirect costs. The evaluation and negotiation processes have been speeded up to reduce the time between the Call deadline and projects starting.

Horizon 2020 - Excellent Science - Future and Emerging Technologies (FET)
Horizon 2020 is the new version of the former Framework Programmes (FP7 etc.) that provide support for research and development. It includes opportunities in:
Future and Emerging Technologies is part of the Excellent Science pillar of the EU's programme for research and innovation, Horizon 2020. It focuses on research beyond what is known, accepted or widely adopted and supports novel and visionary thinking. Funding is available for collaborative research projects to open up new and promising fields of research, technology and innovation.

Horizon 2020 - Industrial Leadership - (LEIT) Information and Communication Technologies
Leadership in enabling and industrial technologies (LEIT) focuses on new opportunities for industrial leadership in Key Enabling Technologies, ICT and space. The emphasis is on areas of research and innovation with a strong industrial dimension and where mastering new technological opportunities will enable and drive innovation.

Erasmus+ Calls for Education and Youth Projects
The European Commission has published detailed guidance, including deadlines, for organisations interested in participating in Erasmus+, the new programme for education, training, youth and sport.
Erasmus+ will give people the chance to study, train, undertake work experience and volunteer abroad with the aim of boosting skills and employability, particularly amongst young people, in the UK.
COSME Programme for SMES
COSME is the EU programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) running from 2014 to 2020 with a planned budget of €2.3bn. COSME will support SMEs in the areas of Access to Finance and Access to Markets.

European Integration Fund - UK Actions
The European Fund for the Integration of Third Country Nationals is provided by the EU Directorate General for Home Affairs and is administered in the UK by the UK Border Agency. The fund can provide assistance to public, private and third sector organisations for projects to better equip Third Country Nationals with the knowledge and skills required to live in the UK.

The Eco-innovation initiative is for organisations that have developed an environmental product, service, management practice or process which has a proven track record, yet is not fully marketed due to residual risks. Further information is on the Eco-Innovation website.
Youth in Action
This programme supports activities for young people and is managed in the UK by the British Council. There are three deadlines a year. More details are available from the British Council Youth in Action website
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs
An exchange programme which gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses in other European Union countries. Open deadlines. EU Opportunities for Cultural Workers and Artists
STEP Beyond funds emerging artists and cultural workers to explore and to exchange views, skills and inspiration through travel between EU and countries bordering the EU. There is no deadline for this grant scheme and the selection process takes up to one month. Find out more here.
