The Strategic Housing Network (SHN) is open to all those working in housing in the city and stakeholders in other services and sectors with overlapping agendas or interest in housing matters.
The former Housing Strategic Partnership's Executive Group (HSP) agreed to change the partnership's existing structure. The change was agreed to enable a wider network of stakeholder participation in the formulation and delivery of housing policy. This was agreed to better capture the views, thinking, and ideas of the city's housing "community".
The principles of the new approach are:
The SHN will remain a themed partnership of One Nottingham and subject to One Nottingham governance arrangements
The old Executive Group has been replaced by a small core group which will oversee the partnership, particularly the development, delivery and performance management of the Housing Nottingham Plan and Homelessness Prevention Strategy
As the partnership has evolved into a stakeholder network, it is open to all those working in the housing sector in the city and stakeholders in other services and sectors with overlapping agendas or interest in housing related matters.
The network is an umbrella for a range of existing groups which are delivering or supporting various housing agendas, including:
Homelessness Prevention Strategy Implementation Group (SIG)
Nottinghamshire Social Housing Forum,
Health and Housing Partnership Board
Housing Supply group
Landlord Liaison Panel (or successor group / forum)
Other task and finish groups to address specific issues as they emerge
There are quarterly themed, topical events which are open to all members of the network.
The network to be supported by a comprehensive housing intelligence service called "Nouse" provided by the Nottingham City Council Housing Strategy team. This includes an email alert service to provide partners with regular information and bring stakeholders instantly up to date with local housing news.
